Menagerie Art Collective

1/29/2010 - 2/28/2010 at Zughaus Gallery

Design by Greta Volper

The Menagerie Collective is excited to announce their first art show of 2010. Founded in 2008 the Menagerie is a diverse group of artists bound by commitment to collaboration, higher artistry, and maintenance of artistic community. With this collective, the artists hope to achieve a greater dialogue (with each other and their viewers) about their artistic vision, its interaction with social forces, and the alchemy within collaborative spaces. Their work extends beyond the personal: it is informed by history, surrounding politics, cultural dynamics, and the unknown future. This exhibition features a menagerie of works crossing boundaries between painting, printmaking, sculpture, video, installation and photography.

The 2010 Menagerie Collective exhibition is on view at Zughaus Gallery in Berkeley, CA. Zughaus doubles as a house and an art exhibition space. Founded in 2009 Zughaus is a non-profit with an alternative independent show space created to provide fellow artists the opportunity to showcase their talent to the community. Zughaus creates a reciprocal creative environment where artists can come together and present their ideas in an alternative forum to the traditional art gallery. Zughaus hosts art events the last Friday of every month. Come enjoy live music, drinks and hour devours at the Menagerie Collectives opening at Zughaus on January 29th at 7pm and runs through February 29th 2010.
